She astey Organ.

STEY & CO. employ only the most skillful workmen i in every dcpartment, use only the best and most carefully selected material, and perform with the un- failing precision of intricate machinery much of the work whichis elsewhere done by hand. Accomplished inventors are continually on the lookout for any possible aduition to or improvement in the machinery, and new devices are being constantly tried and accgpted. No expense or en- couragement is spared to attain the aeme of mechanical in- genuity. In yiew of these facts, when it is considered that it takes six weeks to perfect a reed, that sixty trained men and women are constantly employed as tuners, in separate apartments, and that the same care is bestowed upon every part before it is sent out as completed, it is not difficult to appreciate the manifest superiority of the Estey Orcan, Furthermore, it must be conceded that the leading im- provements in Reed Organs of other manufacture have been, without exception, originated, perfected and intro- duced by Messrs. Esrzy & Co, Their instru:nents are simply unrivaled in America or Europe, Scientific men, inventors and manufacturers from all parts of the world have visited their establishment, and unanimously pro- nounce it unsurpassed for comprehensiveness and perfec- tion of separate detail and general system. To this judg- ment is added the highest testimony from every part of this country and Europe to the exalted merits of the Esrey OrGAN. Such testimony, coming from all quarters, is a test of value and approval which cannot be gainsaid. It is the voice of culture and refinement bearing proud witness to that truism, as old as human endeavor and human frui- tion, that only true merit achieves true success.

IMPROVEMENTS

GONTAINED IN THE EBESTEY ORGAN,

>

Tur Punic AV RELY UPON THE FACT, THA, AS FAST AS REAL IMPROVEMENTS CAN BE PERFECTED, THEY WILL BE IN- TRODUCED IN THE EsTEy ORGAN,

Among the nanyimportant improvements already adopt- ed in these celebrated instruments, particular attention is is directed to the following ;

: The Patent Yor Humana,

This wonderful invention was perfected and brought out in the Estey Orcan in 1865, It consists ofa revolving fan, p.aced just back of the reeds, which, when set in motion by the appropriate stop, imparts to the tone a thrilling, wave- like effect, hitherto unknown in instrumental music. The control of this great invention was at once secured by Let- ters Patent, and its introduction was the signal for sincere congratulations on every hand. The best proof ofits posi- tive value and wide appreciation is found in the fact that, after a test of years, no organ is considered at all complete without the Pex Aumana attachment, Its instantaneous success led other manufacturers to adopt various devices to produce the same cffect by wholly unrcliable and inade- quate cans. These were invariably only revivals of that old, worn-out idea, the ‘* Valve,” or ** Clapper,” or ** Cut- off”? Tremulant, and resulted in moreor less complete fail- ures. Purchasers of Organs should place no faith in the statements of interested parties, who claim for their so- called Tremolos the exquisite cifect produced by the Esrry Vox Humana. .

IT IS UNDENIABLY THE FIRST AND ONLY MECHANICAL REPRO- DUCTION OF THE HUMAN VOICE EVER GIVEN TO THE WORLD.

The Patent Yor Jubilante,

This is a new and beautiful stop peculiar to the Estry OrGcans. The character of its tone is marked and wonder- fully effective. and admits of a yery desirable style of music in reed instruments.

The Patent Harmonic Attachment.

This isan Octave-Coupler used on a single Manual, which doubles the power of the instrument without necessitating an increase in the size or number of reeds.

The Patent Manual Sub-Bass.

The manner in which these reeds are placed on the air- chamber increases the volume of tone at least one-third.

The Patent Knee-Swell.

This Swell gives the player complete control of the in- strument, and produces a perfect crescendo or diminuendo.

The Patent Organ Bellows. This invention greatly enhances the power and quality of the tone, without increasing the size of the instrument.

The Patent Reed-Board.

This Reed-board gives the Estey ORGAN a vastly im- proved tone, making it much more like a pipe organ than any other in the market. It is an improvement of inesti- mable importance, and is covered by /exr patents.

The Patent Violetta.

This‘is a Solo Stop of great beauty, indispensable when an unusually soft and sweet tone is required to give proper expression to the music.

The Patent Reeds.

A number of very ereat improvements in Reeds has been pertected by Messrs, Estey & Co., which are readily dis- cernable in the power, variety and beauty of tone charac- terising their Organs,

Improved Tone.

It is pre-eminently the QUALITY OF TONE that places the Estey ORGAN in adyance of all others, Itisa Reed Organ possessing the tnuvaluable desideratum of a pipe-like tone, which is round, full and powerful, and yet capable of the most delicate articulation and shades of feeling. There is the same difference between the Reeds of the Estny ORGAN and those of other makers, that there is between a cultiva- ted and an uncultivated human voice.
